Abstract:
A discussion of the use of washing in the conservation and restoration of paper. The processes involved in the washing, the influence of various parameters on paper washing and the establishment of conditions for optimal results, the effect of washing on mechanical properties, whiteness, pH and alkaline reserve discussed. It appears that the washing of paper improves the qualities of paper, and prior to deacidification improves the paper resistance reguarding the whiteness, the pH and the mechanical resistance.
