Abstract: Impermanent acid papers can ordinarily be stabilized using alkaline earth carbonates. However, paper which contains transition metal catalysts, compounds of copper, cobalt, or iron can still fail by oxidative degradation. Paper was treated with copper acetate at various ph levels, given accelerated ageing, and the degradation was followed by the change in folding endurance.
