Abstract:
Replacement of calcite by basic copper chloride has been studied as a function of time, temperature, and concentration in flowing solutions. The replacement does not follow the laws of chemical equivalence; instead, the control is a rough type of catalysis on the calcite surface. The mechanism gives great promise of producing volume for volume replacements.
